For the past five years, I've managed to avoid him. I've managed to forget about him and move on from him. Mostly. Alex Lancaster and I have history, but nothing will ever change between us.
At least until he shows up at my dad's work in need of a lawyer after he did something stupid, and I'm forced to fake-date him to keep up his public appearance.
But I won't let him have my heart. Not after last time. I left for a reason, and this is strictly business. Or would be had it not been for him trying to use his tricks on me. Trying to get me to fall. But I refuse to. I made that mistake long ago, and I'm not about to do it again.
But when someone is trying to stalk him and threaten me, I'm learning that there's more to him than what meets the eye. And I find it very hard to stay away, even when I'm being threatened with my life.
