Lucy Caldwell and Jasper Benson have known each other since second grade. Lucy is 17 and Jasper is 18, they both live in New Middleton, Tennessee. Lucy does things to herself that most teenage girls go through at least once in her life, but she's been doing it for years. What happens when it goes too far and she's had enough?

Tears streamed down my face as I held my left arm out for him to see, "I'm ugly, I'm broken and I can never be fixed. Why would you want me?"
Jasper kissed the scars on my arm, "I know you're beautiful and I don't ever want to lose my best friend...I love you, always have and always will."
I smiled at him, "Jasper, can I tell you one thing?" he nodded and looked up at me with his enchanting blue eyes, "Never let go of me...".
He stood up and I had to look up at him, "I would never dream of letting you go, ever."
