It's Iris Grey's final year of high school. She should be worrying about what college to go to and the classes she'll need to be studying for, but the only thing on her mind is her last soccer season. Every year that she has been on the team, the Red Devils have made it to the section finals only to lose to same team over and over again, but Iris has it set out in her mind that that won't be a repeat during her senior year. Her only problem is her history teacher that happens to be the soccer coach as well. Iris and Coach Davis make each other's blood boil, and no matter how much they try and set aside their differences, it seems that it doesn't work, but no matter how much they hate each other, they both know they need the other in order to win. Will they be able to move past their differences in order for Iris to win her final season or will the two crack under each other's pressure? Will something else develop under all of the hate or will they continue to think that nothing will ever change the fact that they will never get along.

Savannah Reyes has her future mapped out: valedictorian, Ivy League acceptance, and zero distractions. Jace Carter is her biggest distraction - the infuriating slacker who somehow matches her grades without lifting a finger. Their rivalry is legendary at West-bridge High, fueled by years of snarky debates, stolen spotlight moments, and mutual loathing. But when their AP English teacher pairs them for a semester-long thesis on "The Psychology of Love in Literature," Savannah and Jace are forced into close quarters - and closer conversations. As they dissect romantic tropes and literary heartbreaks, they begin to see past the personas they've built. Savannah discovers Jace's chaotic home life and quiet resilience, while Jace uncovers the pressure behind Savannah's perfectionism. What starts as a battle of wills turns into late-night study sessions, reluctant laughter, and a slow unraveling of everything they thought they knew - about each other and themselves. With prom approaching, college decisions looming, and emotions running high, Savannah and Jace must decide: is love just another literary cliché, or the one plot twist they never saw coming?
