"This story is about those tattered red Chucks. That's right, a whole book based off of one pair of shoes. A very special pair of shoes." "How exactly are those shoes so special? I guess it isn't exactly the shoes themselves that are so interesting. It's the people I meet with them. Every single person that has ever had some sort of impact in my life had, in one way or another, something to do with those shoes. My girlfriend, my best friend, my nemesis, my dead neighbor, my dog. All huge parts of my life. All in some way related to the shoes."
