Delilah moves from New York to a school where the fake popular kids claim her as their own. Making it impossible to make real friends. It isn't until she gets partnered with the mute boy for an assignment that she finally makes a real connection. She makes it her mission to get to now him. Although he doesn't want to be known. He's scared that once she gets to know him she'll leave like everyone else. But what they both don't expect is that music has a way of bringing people together. My eyes widen and I look into her eyes again. A blush makes a way to her face and I can tell she didn't mean to say that last part out loud. But she did. And I can't stop myself from taking what she said to heart. It's been a long time since anyone has said anything remotely close to that to me. I can't let it get to me. I can't get used to it. Being hopeful. The higher you rise, the farther you fall. "Do you think you could make a song I can sing to?" She asks me timidly. I hesitate to say no. If I say no then she might spiral again. This is her hope. Her light to the darkness. She finally has something to look forward to and to distract her. As I mull over it I see the hope in her eyes dwindle. She doesn't expect me to say yes. "Towards the Sky", as its name suggests, is a poem book which aims to reach the Sky with it's growing feelings and emotions which everyone can see and feel. These poems are just some of the little pieces that make up my life. Whenever I get inspired by someone or something, I write a little story about it in the form of a poem. In a way, it helps me express what I have in my mind in a very vague way. I'm not that kind of a direct person, but there are things that are sometimes, better to kept secret. Here, these poems are what I wanted to say to my friends, to other important people, to people in general, to the world around me, to life and each detail it possesses. "What's a sweet woman like you doing here all by herself?" His voice is low and raspy, it's hot. He reaches down and tucks a strand of my hair behind my left ear, waiting for my reply. "I'm not sweet. Go back to your table." I tell him firmly. A glimmer of shock passes over his eyes, it's probably the first time he's been rejected. "Playing hard to get, I like it. I don't follow instructions though." he tilts his head as he speaks. "You're a tough shell to crack, I don't know how to read you." "Maybe that's because I don't want you to read me, maybe my pages are better off hidden." I respond, keeping him on his toes and being completely honest. // Maddison Levine and Harry Styles met one night at a grungy bar, she knows he's too pure for her.
