When Sawyer Kreutzer and his family move into a large, Victorian home in Vermont, he is expecting a new life of boredom, quiet and dull compared to his previous home of Las Vegas. However, Sawyer is shocked to discover that the seemingly quiet house he lives in is also home to a number of spirits. Sawyer befriends a few of the ghosts, learning their dark backstories. Some kind, some malevolent, and some fearful, the ghosts are all here to seek out one being, the Noctem Mente - the Night-Minded one. The Noctem Mente is said to be the purest soul, who can release the spirits from the pain and suffering they have been imprisoned in since their deaths - the one who can set them free.
