I thought I had died on my way home from work and that the gods had blessed me with a loving father in the afterlife. While the war over slavery has already occurred, I've altered the timeline and some details about the war's history. I also dislike the trope of a "truly evil" villain whose sole purpose is to justify the plot of a war or the extension of a series. With this story, I want to give the villain a backstory-a name and depth-saving him from the same mediocre depiction of a tyrant.
Before The Beginning
Bertrice, Quaren, and mentions of other ships inside! This is a look into the past, with my version of how we got to where we are now. There will of course be happy moments, but some somber ones too. This story is not for everyone. There will be heavy spoilers for All the Wrong Questions inside, but it's not an ATWQ focused book. (Only in the first chapter) Multiple POVs will be used.
