She walked out of the classroom as quickly as she could without being noticeable, gripping her school bag in her left hand and her right arm curled up against her. Her left foot slightly dragged on the ground as though it had trouble moving, keeping her from sprinting out of the school. Her head was down, bangs hanging in her face, and heated tears fell.

She hoped that he wouldn't catch her, because he obviously remembered her.

However, as soon as the halls began to quiet, a hand grabbed her left wrist, causing her to flinch in surprise and hault in her tracks. She knew it was him without looking up.

"Why do you keep running away from me?!" he asked almost angrily, although she knew it was his way of hiding his emotions. "I don't care if it's been years! I still want to be your best friend!" he told her, the hallways having cleared.

She quickly pulled away from his grip, turning to look into his steel eyes for what she thought would be the last time.

"Forget me," she whispered before she slowly shuffled off, leaving him standing there, even after the bell rang.

He fell to his knees, running a hand through his raven black hair.

"...but I love you," he mumbled to himself, knowing that she was long gone.

"You're different from what I expected," she said softly. "How so?" he asked, glancing at her. "I don't know," she replied, searching for the right words. "You just... have this way of making people feel like they matter. Even here, in this... nightmare." He was quiet for a moment before responding. "You matter, Y/n. Don't forget that." OR Y/n wakes up in the deadly Squid Game, surrounded by strangers and fighting to survive. What she doesn't know is that the mysterious Frontman is watching her every move through the cameras- and she's caught his attention.
