Matthew has a nice life. He was rich, popular, and hot. He loved San Diego. 

But his Mom got offered a really nice job, in Washington. She took it, and Matthew had to go with her since he was still underage.

Then there's Kristen. A lonely girl, that has no hope, and dreams. Her Mom died of cancer, and her Dad is a abusive drunk. Kristen has no friends, they all turned against her. 

After Matthew switches schools, he becomes instantly popular. 

Him and Kristen become partners for a school project.  At first they hate each other. But later on they had to get to know each other, to pass that project. 

Matthew ends up having feelings for this girl, but Kristen won't let him in.

Is trying to help this girl, that is broken worth it? Well, to Matthew it is. But he won't see the consequences heading his and Kristen's way.
