First class Karen Taylor Cardeza is the daughter of the wealthy Charlotte Cardeza, (a big game hunter) traveling with their maid. They were staying in the second promenade suite of the Latanic. They were headed to Germantown, Pennsylvania, from Cherbourg, France.

First class Garroth John Ismay is the son of the managing director of the White Star Line, J. Bruce Ismay, or Joseph Bruce Ismay. The managing director was staying in one of two promenade suites. Garroth's father had wished to be on the maiden voyage of the Latanic, the largest ship in the British shipping circle.

Third class Aaron Goldsmith, son of Frank Goldsmith, is traveling with his father going to America for a new start after Aaron's brother Albert died of diphtheria.
