THEY'RE CALLED OBSERVERS. THE ONES WHO WATCH US THROUGHOUT OUR ADOLESCENT LIVES. FROM THE MOMENT WE'RE BORN, TO THE MOMENT WE TURN NINETEEN. They analyze every action and decision we make. Making sure they factor in everything. BY THE TIME OF OUR NINETEENTH BIRTHDAY, THEY KNOW US BETTER THAN WE DO. They have us take one final test. Then, the place us into our perfect little life that we will live out forever. They tell us whether we should go into the arts, education, service, army, accounting and banking, law and government, or building and designing. And usually, they're right. IT IS HIGHLY UNLIKELY FOR AN OBSERVER TO BE WRONG.

Every twenty years, eighteen girls are categorized into royalty. Eighteen girls can't all be princess at once. So they compete. That's right. Compete for the crown. And, for the heart of the prince.

But the heart of the prince might not be the heart Annora Kleckner wins.

In a kingdom where duty outweighs desire, alliances are forged in marriage, and power is a game played in shadows, the noble houses of Harvanser and Kon weave an intricate web of ambition, betrayal, and legacy. At the heart of this tale stands Isabel Harvanser, the cast-aside daughter of King Louis Brail. Once the cherished heir to the throne, she is now stripped of her title and future, Isabel harbors a single, burning vow-to reclaim what was stolen from her. But as she navigates the treacherous politics of nobility, she begins to realize that power is not simply given-it must be taken. Alongside Isabel's story is the story of her family. Her maternals figures, once radiant and ambitious young noblewomen attempt to play the courtly game with ease. Their paths are destined to end, and their fates tangled in a battle of wits, will, and whispered alliances. As noble daughters are bartered for power and kings secure their legacies through blood and marriage, Isabel must decide who she will become-a pawn in the hands of those who rule or a queen in her own right. A Single Rose is a gripping tale of ambition, family, and the cost of power. For in a world where crowns are won through cunning defeats, and love is a luxury few can afford, only the ruthless will rise. Will Isabel carve her own destiny, or will she be buried beneath the weight of duty and betrayal? One thing is certain-she will not go quietly. Notes: The title of Lord Baron is given to those who rules a region of land in the ruler of the country's name. So the king is the ruler of the entire country, and a lord Baron is the ruler of a designated region within that country.

I never thought my life would end up like this. One second, I'm just... me. The next, I'm running for my life, caught in a world I don't understand and hunted by people I can't even make sense of. Then there's Kane. Mysterious, stubborn, and somehow the only person I can count on. He drags me into a group of survivors - people from kingdoms that were destroyed, each with their own messed-up past. Somehow, we all ended up together, trying to survive in a world that's slowly breaking apart. Nothing is safe. Every shadow hides a threat, every step could be our last. And the more I learn, the more I realize that surviving isn't just about staying alive - it's about figuring out who I can trust, what I'm capable of, and what nightmares I'm willing to face. We were going to rebuild what we'd lost. ....
