Alex Daniels is more powerful than she knows. After witnessing the brutal murder of her parents at the age of eleven, she is shipped off to a school designed specially for kids like her, ranging from as young as eleven to as old as old as nineteen.
Alex finds comfort in the walls of her new home, making a few friends, and enemies along the way. Nothing could be better for her at that time.
But then when she and her friends discover something hidden in the brick walls and cobblestone floors of the school-something dangerous- no one believes them, and they are left to do the impossible, all alone.
