Ryuu Yoshida has grown up cold just as his tycoon father taught him to be. Ryuu sees people as nothing but tools to be used for his benefit, not associating with anyone that can't offer him something in return. However he is forced to ask for help when his final year of high school comes and he starts failing one class. Instead of admitting his weakness to his father, he turns to the school to find him a tutor. It's through this path that he meets Natsumi Kimoto.
Natsumi is another fourth year at their high school who has big dreams for her future. Wanting to be the first in her family to go to university and plans to take every opportunity to polish her resume. So she gladly accepts the chance to take a tutoring job on the side, not knowing the kind of trouble her pupil is going to give her at first.
But over the course of their sessions, friendship slowly starts to blossom and Ryuu starts to realize that maybe some people are worth having around. Could Natsumi be the girl to thaw his frozen shell and find the real person he was meant to be?

Masahiko Kou has been just a normal student ever since until he decides to make a turning point of his life and change himself. From a timid guy, he tries to gain some confident and aims to stand out. He notices another student, Naoki Michiko, somehow boyish and has a rough attitude and rumored as a “tomboy” even if she's not. Although she tries to act girly, it doesn't suit her so she just sticks to her current image but Kou, understanding what it is to be an outcast, decides to help her and share his excitement with her so he proposes to make her his girlfriend all of a sudden. Michiko thinks he's crazy and is just messing with her but Kou actually pursues, trying to act as the perfect boyfriend everybody dreams of. He wouldn't care when people label them as an odd couple, he would prove to them soon that Michiko and he will become the “best couple” in school. He would flirt with her publicly and openly shows sweet gestures to her. To Michiko, this is just too unexpected and she heard from the others that Kou was a timid student so she can't understand what's happening to him and thinks that maybe he's trying too hard and somehow feels the need to make him realize that being one's true self is better than changing to have others' approval.
