Eighteen years ago, Harin Crowe took the throne of Turasin by force. He slew Morant, and took the crown and kingdom for himself. He ordered the Queen brought to him, but she was nowhere to be found. Crowe believed her dead, and cursed his men. But it faded from his mind.
And now, after eighteen years, we find a small group of six performers, each barely past adulthood. They're fugitives for no other reason than defending themselves. But of course, Magpie and Starling share a mysterious past and a dark secret. And in attempt to get revenge for a long-forgotten act, they will undertake a mission to assassinate the king and his three heirs - the Crown Prince Aston, Prince Lucian and Princess Dawn.
