Sometimes the gods take special note of which parents of their children are especially great. Sometimes when they find a parent unfit they move their demigod child out of that home, and to a more fit home. It's a demigod-foster-system of sorts. The home is put under a ward, which blocks out any source that monsters could use to find the demigod children.
