Ariana Hawkins was 15 years old. Like most girls around her age she had long hair, hers in chestnut curls that framed her pale cheeks. Her hazel eyes were enhanced by dark and long lashes.

But, her life wasn't like most other girls her age. At school, she was segregated and bullied daily, for some thing she didn't do wrong. And, she lived in a broken home and to top that off her only supportive figure, her older brother Michael, had just been lost in a car accident.

Every day was a challenge for Ari. For more reasons than one. Now, she would have to face them alone.

Introduce a new family, who help her see things better.

Maybe, one day life Ariana could find herself?

(This is not the best description. But I know the book is better! Well, I hope it is...)

The truth is, she's scared, Scared that one day people will see past her smile and charm, and see the person she really is on the inside. Scared that someone will remember who she used to be. ~•~ Now I know I seem like a bitch, and your probably thinking I'm your stereotypical mean girl, but I wasn't always like this, back when high school first started. I had a best friend who I thought I would be friends with forever. I was shy and timid, and I was foolish enough to believe what people told me. Back then everyone knew me as Arora. After the incident I decided to stop going by my first name, I had also learned that being mean, and not taking anything form anyone was the only way to get people to treat you with respect. ~•~ Arora Fisher: the girl most people didn't notice until they needed help with homework, the girl who was voted most likely to disappear and no one would notice. The girl who her believed in the good in others, who wanted to just give people a chance, no matter how many red flags. The girl who was lost to tragedy. ~•~ "We'll be broken together." He try's to smile, but he can't manage it and I nod, knowing how much pain he feels. "We'll be broken together." I whisper, after that we sit there, in an empty silence, neither of us wanting to be the first one to speak again, because it feels off, like the sound of our own voices might somehow break our hearts more.

Aria never imagined that she would see Oliver again, it had been many years since she had last seen Ollie. He was her best friends brother, and he was off limits, not that he ever noticed her. They had grown up together, attented the same schools, played playground games after school, and hung out at each other's homes. Suddenly right around middle school Aria started to get shy, and awkward whenever Ollie was present, and it got worse the older they got. She'd steal glimpses of him whenever possible, and yet, never admitted it to anyone, let alone Ollie. Then life happened, and they grew up, and they all went there separate ways. One day, Aria spots Ollie in the distance, and she immediately becomes entranced at the sight of him. Oliver was older now, but she quickly recognized him. She would know, as she had stolen many moments staring, studying his face, and she could definitely spot those eyes anywhere. They are suddenly forced to face each other, and she realizes that she quickly becomes that awkward shy school girl all over again. He is familiar to her, but yet, still different, as he is a soldier who hasn't quite left the battlefield. Standing so close to him, she can't help but try to steal a closer look at him, but she quickly realizes that this time- he is staring back at her, and he isn't even trying to hide it. His eyes are immediately locked on her at the first sight.
