A RANGER IS BORN
First off, this story was not written by me. I am posting it for a friend of mine, with permission of course. This took place in a Dungeons & Dragons game over 30 years ago. It is a about how one of the player characters got his start; Crentar Bronn. He is a human ranger of 1st level in this story. This is important to note, because it'll bring more perspective as you read the story. I was the DM (Dungeon Master) for this game. At the time, we were still in high school, which of course, gives away our age. lol I decided to have each character do it solo before they actually met up with each other. A teaser so-to-speak. Eventually, there was five player characters in the game. My friend who ran Crentar Bronn remembers this whole solo adventure to this very day in great detail. A few years after the game is when he wrote this story. We were recently reminiscing about 'old times' and he told me that he actually wrote it out as a story. He was then able to find it on an old hard drive & then sent it to me. I was very surprised at how good this is & how great his memory was from that adventure. I'm flattered that he was so inspired by it, that he turned it into a story! I hope you enjoy this early adventure of Crentar Bronn as much as we did. Perhaps, with enough comments & likes, he'll be inspired to write more chapters. THX

With Renee (MC) working to heal Sebastian, you find yourself desperately trying to mend Ominis along the way. Though taller and broader, Ominis is trapped in his trauma, especially as he struggles to find where to go after Hogwarts. Family, Friendship, Love, and Lies lead us into the tale of Whenever, Wherever. In JOS I set the rogue and con-artist Harric against a foil of warriors in a land threatened by magic and civil war. Whenever possible I turn familiar tropes on their heads: instead of a handsome young Lancelot, I cast a broken-down ex-champion addicted to pain-killing herbs; instead of a dashing Squire Brian, the old knight reluctantly takes an ambitious young woman as squire. Similarly, I re-imagine the standard medieval milieu by infusing aspects of two of my favorite historical periods, Elizabethan England, and The American Frontier. Both eras boast a kind of nationalistic arrogance that borders on hubris, and a magnificent spirit of resourcefulness and re-invention that is fun to play with.
