They are sent on a quest that is seemingly short and harmless, but it is just a weed with roots 6 feet deep, tangled with trees.

Everything is involved. Nothing can get away safe as everything is turned over- a small anthole turned over to reveal a mass of ants in their massive ant house.

Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase are not exceptions.

So pretty much I ignored what went on in that series except for a few things that were for certain from the Hidden Oracle. Characters and such belong to the awesome Rick Riordan. I only own the events and story line.

Most of the characters are original to the story, but characters like Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, Rachel Elizabeth Dare, Nico di Angelo, Chiron, and the Greek Gods (Hades, Thanatos, Oizys, Hestia, Dionysus) belong to Rick Riordan, along with the locations of Camp Half - Blood, mount Olympus and The Underworld, though some aspects of Tartarus have been crafted entirely for the purposes of the story.
