My own manifesto, addressed to those who use religion as an excuse for bigotry. While your religion may say certain things are wrong or sinful, it is not an excuse to treat anyone badly. Religions are almost all based on love, understanding, and forgiveness, and have been for thousands of years. They give us purpose, reason, direction. They seek to inspire, to create, to improve the lives of thousands - of millions. But all to often they are used as justification for such injustice. It mustn't continue. People, somewhere, someday, must stand up and say "This is not right. We do not approve." And today I do just that.
