A set of four poems in the Rictameter form, less then a hundred and fifty words and they tell a story. The tale is told from the narrative of young woman suffering severe PTSD. She explains to an unnamed character what emotions in her are awakened by physical contact and describes the love she had for a man despite the blood on his hands.

The slam poetry venue becomes her sanctuary, a space where words offer the escape she desperately needs when Calvin's anger turns to violence. One evening, as she seeks refuge among the verses, she meets Michael-a stranger whose presence feels unexpectedly warm and safe. As their conversations unfold, Serena begins to see a glimpse of something she thought she'd lost: hope. But breaking free from her past won't be easy.
