"If what they said is true you are a vampire! Which I haven't even had time to get my head round yet!"

"This is madness honey you can't just go. No I am putting my foot down NOW. When it really counts. I am the man of the house and supposed to protect you. I say you can't go. This is ridiculous. Someone please just give me the last 24 hours back and we can redo this day."

I put my hand to his cheek and his roles his beautiful face into my hand. I can feel him holding back the tears. Trying to be strong for me.

"What do I say to our son?"

"You tell him that mummy did this for him. For you. For everyone. You know what they said. If I don't do this we all die.
