A young girl by the name of Alessandra (Alice) Rosanne (Roe) Mathis lives in a town where red hair is a rare thing, and makes her stick out like a sore thumb. Of course she acts oblivious to the staring from strangers and stays as a caretaker of a tavern/inn for her mother who's fallen sick to a slow and painful process of death. When two guards from the castle, wearing ridiculous outfits, come to town searching for her mother she takes her place as the advisor to the Prince of the kingdom. In some strange circumstances and plot she becomes the lone female servant to the castle. Once inside Alessandra realizes that there's more than meets the eye to this prince and to the kingdom itself. Using instincts and strength she earned from her parents, can she defend herself from the greedy men, visit her mother, and save the prince's reputation all at once? Only time can tell. Inside the castle sits the prince of the kingdom, Michael Matthew (Matt) Kingston, nicknamed Lucifer by the servants. He only has his eyes on Alessandra's mother for his advisor because of the way she could handle him unlike anyone else could, no one else mattered. When Alessandra instead comes as a servant he feels immense rage and declares her the reason her mother was sick, but as time passes he feels something shift, why did he refuse to let her leave even though he hates her? What was hidden in the girl with the double edged sword that intrigued him enough to possibly consider it love?

Once upon a time in the hidden heart of France, a handsome young prince lived in a beautiful castle. Although he had everything his heart desired, the prince was selfish, spoiled, and unkind. He had an entire army of servants there to attend to his every need, most of which were there since his childhood. The prince nearly hated his staff, even when they'd done nothing wrong - and were only trying to meet his needs. One night, during one of the Prince's courting events - a special type of ball, where dozens of young woman would dress up and dance with the prince, in an attempt to win over his heart and become queen to the Kingdom - An uninvited guest arrived. It was a poor, shivering, elderly woman seeking shelter from the bitter winter storm. Repulsed by her haggard appearance, the prince dismissed the woman. As a gift, the old woman offered the prince a single rose, but when he dismissed her again, the woman's outer appearance melted away. Only to reveal a beautiful enchantress. The prince begged for forgiveness, but it was too late - for she could see there was no love in his heart. The enchantress cursed the prince, transforming him into a hideous beast - and if he was unable to learn to love another, and earn their love in return by the time the last petal from the rose she offered had fallen, he would remain a beast forever. But the enchantress also placed the curse upon his innocent castle staff, who were transformed into antiques; suffering for the prince's mistake(s) in small, rusting, metallic bodies. Life was hard enough for the staff, but now - it was unbearable. ~ This story will go through the staff's struggles before, DURING, and after they were cursed. It will also fill plot holes and extend the ending of Beauty And The Beast. A majority of this story is a prequel, and will fall into a bit of a sequel as well, so I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!
