*A Zutara fanfic*
Kara has been living in a little fishing village in the northern Earth Kingdom for as long as she can remember--literally. She woke up on its shores nearly six months ago, and she knows that if it hadn't been for Aki, she'd be dead. She's accepted that her life is in this village now, whoever she may have been--to her mind, it's better this way.
It's better not knowing.
But then a boy comes to the village--a boy who carries himself like a man. He's different from anyone Kara's ever seen before, and he seems to know her, he seems to understand her in a way no one else has.
His name, he says, is Lee, but he says no more than that, and Kara is lost. How is she supposed to reconcile the little she knows about herself with this handsome, scarred stranger? How is she supposed to know what to do, when she doesn't even know who, or what, she is?
And, more importantly, how is the banished prince of the worst nation in history supposed to convince a girl with no memory--a girl that he believed to be dead because of his actions--that he's on her side, when he knows that if she ever remembers, she will hate him?

Fire Lord Zuko had lived a life defined by duty-first to his nation, then to his family. With peace restored and his throne secure, it was time for the next step: marriage and heirs. The need to tie his personal life to his responsibilities weighed heavily on him. He was prepared for it in theory, but no woman had ever stirred his heart, not in the way he thought a future wife should. That was, until he met her. Princess Lavena was everything Zuko didn't expect-fiery, cold, and utterly indifferent to his rank. More than that, she despised him, and the reason for her hatred was a mystery he couldn't unravel. Yet, despite the anger in her eyes, or maybe because of it, Zuko found himself drawn to her. He wanted her with a hunger that surprised even him. For the first time in his life, he was sure of who he wanted to stand beside him, to tie the red marital ribbon around her palm and call her his wife. But for Lavena, the idea of marrying Zuko was a nightmare. She feared him as much as she hated him, and now she was expected to entrust her future-her entire life-to the man who embodied everything she had come to resent. How could she possibly survive in the shadow of the Fire Lord, bound to him by marriage? the stakes were just as high for Zuko. Winning her over, understanding the depth of her hatred, and navigating the storm between them was not something he could command or control. This was a battle of hearts, and it threatened to tear them both apart. Now, they must face the ultimate question: can they survive each other, or will this marriage of obligation become the ruin of them both? ~~~~ Zuko x oc Must read the first two books of my atla series to understand better

Years before the Siege of Ba Sing Se, General Iroh discovers a young girl among the remains of a decimated Water Tribe village. Raised in the heart of the Fire Nation, she grows close to the young crown prince and accompanies him and Iroh on their adventures. ________________________________________________________________________________ **This is an old story I had written in my head years ago when the series was still on Nickelodeon, and most of what I had originally written out was dialogue, so I apologize for any lack of detail or imagery-I don't have much time to devote to it as I'd like. I've read quite a few fanfic stories out there and this one isn't very good in comparison, but I'll post it for others who might find it entertaining--it was certainly entertaining to write. Also, I understand a lot of readers don't like stories that follow canon. This one does follow the show for the most part, but eventually digresses, follows, and digresses again. Disclaimer: I own nothing of the world of ATLA, although a few characters were seriously harmed (or killed) in the imagining of this fictional story.
