I felt the bed dip as he sat down on the other side but I focused solely on my task until I was done. "This is a pillow barrier. Meaning, you don't breach this side of the pillows." I instructed, my voice firm. "What if I don't want anything between us?" Phoenix said in a husky voice, and I risked a glance. Bad choice. His eyes were dark and his gaze was on my lips, to my chest, then back to my lips. "Eyes up here, buddy." I snapped the third time his eyes went down to my chest. All he did was turn off the lights. When it was dark, he whispered," Can't I admire what is mine?" I had no answer, and turned on my side. He sighed. Despite taking two naps today, I was out cold the minute my head hit my pillow. I could only hope that in the morning, the pillow barrier was still there. ***** Adira has a secret, one she would do anything to protect. She's built barriers around her heart, so strong that only the most powerful force could break them down. Adira was an Alpha's daughter, 19 years old, and didn't want a mate. But when she starts school, not only do two girls immediately latch onto her, becoming her friends, but she seems to have an odd connection with a certain boy. She hated how curious he made her. She hated how easily she melted around him. She hated how addicted she quickly became to his voice, his touch, and his smell. She loved the way she seemed to have the same effect on him. When her friends devise a plan for her to figure out why he pushed everyone away their freshman year, she finds herself growing closer to the boy than she ever planned to. And a large part of her didn't mind. What happens when she gets an unexpected answer, and is thrown into a world she never could have thought existed?
