Austin doesn't seem to have a voice. Despite his active protesting and defiance of his extremely homophobic parents, they don't listen. He has never been accepted as gay, even though he told his family. His parents send him to Opravit middle school, an Anti-LGBT school known to fix students , with the motto "Fixing the wrong." Austin is openly gay, and will answer "the question" with a definite yes.

Jake has never told anyone. His Parents will never, ever know. In fact. no one he knows personally knows about him. However, when he runs into Austin, he wants to tell him and hopes he won't hate him.
