Willow once had a peaceful, happy life, but that changed when she was five. She had a two year older brother named Tyler but he left to the find the place that kept popping up in his dreams. Before he left he told Willow that he would come back for her, but he never came back. After he left Willow's mom married to her boyfriend, but once he came into the house he showed his true colors. His abusive, cold, alcoholic, and major gambler colors toward Willow. So all of Willow's pain and suffering all started when Tyler left her and never came back.

One day, twelve painful years later, Willow was coming home. When she got home someone was waiting for her(a.k.a. Hermes. I think you all know who he is). He gave her envelope(that had her name & address,but had no return address. It also smelled suspiciously like the outside: ocean, woods, etc.) then left.

When she open there was a letter in it. it said: 'You need to go to a camp where people like you stay to train and be safe. You need to go there, and I'm sorry that I won't be able to take you. You have to find a way to get there yourself.

Ps: your brother is completely safe at that camp with a few friends of his that you will soon get to know.'

And the carts had to be overflowing with toys. It was as if they had dreamed their entire lives of doing a "who cares how much it costs" shopping spree at Toys R Us for their children. Just recklessly spending on a bunch of STUFF. That was 2007. And then came 2008. But, more disturbing to me, was the impact it had on families. I think moms and dads lost themselves in providing stuff for their kids and not giving their kids time. And I saw the kids suffer because of it. So, I did a little research and a lot of observing and I wrote a mostly fictional story about an upper-middle class family in the OC. It explores (it simple terms) what was going on in the economy and what teenagers really want from their parents...
