From the beginning we see a 17 year old boy, struggling to finish high School, filled up with insecurities, mental health issues, a toxic family home, and impossible standards to live up to. He has learn to not only hate his life, but to want finish it off as fast as possible. Close to finally graduating high school his English teacher, Mr Steve, assigns the class a special progect. "To be able to see life through different eyes, and write about it." For this, Mr Steve gets his class to assist a hospital 3 times a week, and assigns each student, with a patient. This is the moment where this boy meets Royal, a cancer sick 17 year old girl, that has lived in a hospital her hole life, but still finds beauty and meaning in it. Through out the report the boy gets more and more involved in Royal's life, spending unfortunately moments together. But through out the journey he asks himself more and more. "Why do bad things happen to good people?" The world is a cruel place. For some people, they love to live in this happy, forgiving, earth. But, the others who aren't so lucky, want to do anything and everything to escape it's unjust ways. To live in another world, a world of peace, of kindness. They say that the best people are the ones who get hurt the most. I am one of them. I hate the way that everyone is so happy in this earth, the way that they can live a good and cheerful life, when I am stuck with the dark depths of depression. In my world, I lacked happiness, friendship, and love. But, something changed. No, someone changed everything. He changed the way I looked at the world. He changed the way I wake up in the morning. And he gave me those three things that I lacked the most.
