Panic arises as the Gladers are thrown back into WICKED's games. Solving the Maze was supposed to be the end, but it was only the beginning. Just as the Glader's thought they were safe, they're pulled into Phase Two of the trials. After barely surviving the horrors of the Maze, Newt, Minho, Audrey and Thao are hit with their biggest variable yet; The Scorch. Surviving the deadly heat, and the murderous monsters called Cranks is only the beginning of the group's hardships. They must survive turmoil in their relationships, tension through friendships, and loyalties reaching their breaking point. Discovering themselves, and pushing themselves to their physical limit is hard enough without the possibility of their deaths around every corner.
