Let's get rid of all that cliche love story stuff okay? Let's build a new form of a "fairytale". There will be love. But it might not always end in a happily ever after. It might not even end up the way anyone ever expects it to. There will be sadness. Life is full of sadness. Life is also full of obstacles. But overcoming those obstacles, also means realizing all of these blessings you have been given, that have been right there in front of you all along. Life can be crazy, rough, and sometimes make no sense, but it can also be crazy, wonderful, and exciting.

Makayla Crosby has never been anyone's shining star. She doesn't really fit in anywhere. Her life is full of being called annoying, having really bad focus, persistent depression, homework not being done on time, her family always being involved in some way, no one ever wanting to partner up with her for group projects, constantly overthinking every action she makes or is about to make, stuff never really going as planned, and ever really being sure of anything.
There isn't a boy in her life that makes everything better in the end, (well unless that guy is God) and she seems to be okay with that. She knows that people that come and go in her life, are gonna let her down and disappoint her. But she still has hope that things will change.

I'm not here to write a romance with a happy ending, I'm writing to prove life isn't always perfect, in most cases it never is, especially when it comes to love. This is to prove that no matter how hard life gets, don't give up, don't push people away, stand up and show whoever or what ever it is that you aren't going to let them or it hinder who you are. Life is precious and we need to live it as we want to be, not as other people want us to be. Jane has been an outcast her entire life, she was orphaned at a young age and grew up without a family. Have you ever had one of those terrible yet annoyingly pivotal moments? You know, that monumental fragment of time that flips everything you have ever known. That plot twist second that completely takes you by surprise. The one just before the storm hits and everything goes to hell. Yes? Because you see, that moment happens to be my whole damn life. It wasn't always like this though. I used to have a pretty mundane existence, happy to just get good grades and be around my friends. God I wish I could get that simplicity back, I'd never complain it was boring again. But I know I'm not going to ever get back my old life because well... I died. (Kinda) But I woke up. And I was thrilled, beyond grateful I wasn't dead. But then I realized that there was one minor detail that had changed about my reality. I was given the chance to live but it turns out I woke up as the villainess in an otome game my friend used to be obsessed with - Kingdom of freaking Hearts (I added the freaking in there for effect, it's just Kingdom of Hearts) Where, for the record, the villainess only has two possible endings 1) execution and 2) getting exiled. So Fate was like, "Don't worry, I'll save you. Here's a chance to live" and then was like "psyche, screw you. You're still going to die but I'll let you suffer a little first." So now, if only to annoy Fate by proving it wrong, I am determined to survive. I can and I will if I play by these simple rules: 1) Befriend Heroin 2) Avoid Aryn Edwards at All Costs as well as other capture targets And 3) Be the top student at the academy and become an invaluable asset to my Kingdom so I become indispensable, thus unkillable. I'm determined, stubborn, persistent and I will live passed 16. Fate made a big mistake setting me up to die. Since it threw this plot twist at me, I figure I'll return the favor. I'll be the biggest plot twist Fate never saw coming...

All that once in a lifetime fairy dust love, that only exists for perfect pretty popularity princesses in the happily ever after. No, this is the other kind of love story ...the messy kind, that messes peoples lives up irrevocably, for all time. The real kind of love story, that comes hand in hand with hopes and fears, and all that real hurt that burns at your heart. So while our Crazy love might not be as bright and shiny as that fairy dust love is ...our love will kick your loves ass any day of the week, and twice on Sunday. Because our love knows the secret truth about itself. That it's not about how perfectly you fall in love, it's how you get the back up after love kicks your ass sideways, and you come back looking for more. He has to keep playing basketball. He's so good at it. He's now well known around the country and scouts are keeping their eyes on him. He's kind of a celebrity now and his parents are loving him more than they ever did. He's relieved. He's doing something right for once. But he doesn't want to play basketball. He wants to take pictures. The beauty of the world draws him in more than anything else has. He wants to capture this beauty through the lens of a camera. This is what he wants to do with his life. Unfortunately, he doesn't dare to think that way. Until he meets Star. A brave, charming, sarcastic, music obsessed girl who steals his heart at first glance. He doesn't want to get close to people but why is he letting his guard down for her? Is he making a big mistake by letting her into his heart, into his life? Only a few minutes with her and he decides that it's a risk he's willing to take.

Have you ever met someone who alters the course of your life? For good or for bad, they've come in, given and taken, and then- BOOM! Your life was never the same. There's always a change, an altering of reality. When you meet those people, the reality that you've known your whole life is suddenly gone and a new one has taken its place. When those moments happen, there's no going back. You can try to return to the way things were but nothing, and I mean nothing, can take you back to exactly how it was. That's what happened to us. I think that's why we're still trying so desperately to get back to some sort of normalcy. Four years later and we're still on the ground, crawling, in search of the happiness that was lost that June. Summers will never be the same. Midnight walks through my neighborhood will never be the same. Field parties with bonfires and loud music will never be the same. I still don't know why you left and what lead you to the decision you made. What I do know is that we're here. We're alive and we're pushing forward to the future. A future that you're not a part of.
