"You are special Eldora believe me"
The last words of her mother, Agnek.
The pale, lifeless corpse at the tips of her toes.
She stood in shock as the eyelids flickered and closed, nothing.
Family surrounded the body, leaning against the great oak, leaves falling slowly drifting down, landing on her mother's forehead.
'Eldora, I'm still here.'

Can she adjust or will she crumble under the pressure? Excerpt: The screams and cries for help faded while silent tears continued to stream down her face. Her hands were slapped over her mouth to muffle any noise that escaped her quivering lips. She wasn't sure how long she was in that pantry but couldn't come out until she was beyond certain that they had left. For a moment, she started to have hope that maybe they wouldn't be able to find her, but a voice spoke up, and fear flooded in once again. "You cleared out the upstairs, too, right?" "Yeah." Another voice responded. There was a slight pause, "Hmm. Then where is that heartbeat coming from, I wonder." His voice had a sickening amusement to it, and her heart rate uncontrollably spiked with the adrenaline pumped through her veins. Was he talking about her? The thought that he could hear her heartbeat was crazy. It just wasn't humanly possible. Footsteps grew closer to the kitchen. Somehow, they had found her. She said one last prayer and goodbye to her life as the pantry opened. "Boo." The man yelled, peering in at her. She was frozen. There was nothing more she could do. She was going to die. "Little Birdy," he stretched out his hand, "come out to play."

Nyx watched his father at the head of the table, his palm resting gently on his mother's tattooed hand. Rhysand laughed at something Mor was saying, the sound pure and happy. Nyx stared with such intensity that it was noticed by the Inner Circle. His father turned to him, a small smile on his lips. He was so elated to have his son home once more. Nyx wanted to break something. "Are you real?" He whispered out loud. His father's smile faltered. Feyre tensed at her son's hoarse voice. He hadn't spoken since that morning, but then again that was nothing new. Nyx rarely spoke these days. "Nyx, my darling?" She asked softly. Nyx had only eyes for his father. "How can you stand it?" He asked, he sounded tired even to his own ears, "How can you sit there...and act happy?" His father sucked in a breath, and leaned closer as if to offer some sort of comfort. "I am happy, Nyx. I'm not pretending." Nyx flinched. Rhysand's face shattered. He stilled. Nyx watched him swallow. "I know what she's done to you..." Nyx said, "Amarantha told me exactly how she hurt you. She hurt me in the exact same way-" "Nyx," Feyre sniffed, "Please." "You cannot let her win, Nyx." Rhysand's voice was soft. "She can't win-" "But she has already won, dad." Nyx said, and there were tears running down his face. "She broke me." Rhysand shut his eyes tightly against the confession. The image of his baby boy in such agony- "I am so tired." Nyx said, "I don't want to live like this. She took everything from me. My wings. My freedom. My dignity. I just want to die-" "Stop." Feyre cried. "Please. Nyx. Stop. You don't mean that." Nyx finally turned to look at his mother. There was such understanding in her eyes. "What else is there?" He said before leaving the room entirely. # An old villain has risen from the dead with vengence on her mind. Nyx, the heir of Night, and Danae, the heir of Spring, shall pay for the sins of their fathers.

Hey, they want to cut a female's wings off? Fair's fair, after all. All of her secrets are at risk of unravelling however, when Nyx fucking Archeron walks into her workshop, requesting she craft new siphons for his baby cousin. Honestly, there's nothing Tessa would like to do less, but she can't seem to resist his charming smile and soon enough she finds herself swept up into his crazy, overwhelming family, desperately trying to keep all of her secrets and keep from falling in love at the same time. "Did you not see what happened to the last male who stood in my way?" She said lowly, pasting a saccharine smile on her face. "Don't make me put you on your knees." He shifted impossibly closer, so close she could breathe in his scent of pine and sea mist. His lips brushed her ear as he bent down to reply, "Darling, I would love to get on my knees for you."
