Black Griffin. A mercenary company well known for their efficient tactics and dominance of war.

The leader of this band is Guiltare, better known at 'The Demon'. But...warfare is not how she wished to spend her life. Hired to inflict cruelty upon foes, the jobs of their band weigh heavily on her mind, chipping away at her conscience. As a general cannot be seen to be weak, she wears a mask into battle. Her enemies assume it is to inspire fear, but in truth, it is to hide the tears and pain she feels with every battle.
Join as the story unfolds,and mysteries arise around the feared warband. How did such a band of mercenaries come to exist? What is it that drives these bizarre and unique characters to sell their skills? And, above all, what could drive someone to commit acts that make them sick?
Now, because this is something I can release very often, it will be arranged...differently. Rather than going towards one specified goal, I'll be posting it in different 'Arcs', where they deal with the mission of foe at the moment, because...well, they're a mercenary band.It makes sense to me, at least.
As a first attempt at a serious story by an aspiring author with a love of reading and entertaining others, be sure to read "Demon", by Timmylail. The way things are now, you can expect 1 new chapter a day, but...that could be subject to change and cutting back should work or personal issues get in the way.

Author's Note: I appreciate the traction this book gets here and there but fair warning, I wrote this when I was quite young and it's paced poorly just to get my ideas stored in my head onto a digital format. The market had another function on the demon side, however, and this purpose is what allowed it to operate with relative impunity. Lackeys of the Demon Lord, known as Enforcers, were more than happy to turn a blind eye in favor of keeping a steady inflow of what the Demon Lord and other demons desired. And what they desired, more often than not, were human pets. A series of stories where each brother is forced into ownership of a human and forced to navigate the perils of the Abyssal Plains whilst keeping her safe. Cora is Damien's path. AN: This story is being COMPLETELY reworked as I prepare to update and start on 'Tori' again. It originally debuted in August of 2017 on AO3. I try to leave most of my older work alone, maybe fix some grammatical and spelling errors but otherwise: I don't touch them. That being said, I've been promising the next work in this series for a long while now and I just can't write the next story without fixing this one first. It's... so bad, guys. It just is. Like, it's supposed to be somewhat like an Otome on the realism scale, but even with that, there are some parts of this that I am literally choking on. So I'm re-doing it. The story line will still be mostly the same, but we're going to flesh out these characters a bit, add some continuity in the POVs, and make some pieces a bit more realistic. If you truly liked the old one and I am messing up your world, I really am sorry. That being said, this is turning out being quite a bit darker in language and imagery than the original, so keep that in mind. I think it makes the Demon Lord a much more true to canon character, but you'll have to make your own judgements. As of right now, Chapters 1-4 have been reworked.
