Maybe you haven't heard of the name Lilah. Or Lyla. Well, it is an Iranian name. Maybe you haven't even heard of Iran. Some haven't. It's a country in the Middle East, next to Iraq and Pakistan.
Lilah is her Iranian name, pronounced Lee-Laah. But everyone (apart from her mum) calls her Lyla, pronounced Lie-lah.
It means night.
Life was going so well for Lyla. She had a place at Cambridge University, and had five of the most amazing friends: Harry, Niall, Liam, Louis, and Zayn. But Zayn wasn't only her friend. He was her other half, the love of her life. And the most amazing thing was, he felt the same way. But then she had to go.
Her brother, Darius, had to fight in the war in Iran, so their mother, Darius and Lyla left London for the warzone. Lyla didn't want to go, and she didn't want to say goodbye. So, she snuck away in the Night, in the Lilah, leaving notes for her great friends.
But, there is a very important saying: If you love someone, set it free, and if they love you too, they will come back.
"You're different from what I expected," she said softly.
"How so?" he asked, glancing at her.
"I don't know," she replied, searching for the right words. "You just... have this way of making people feel like they matter. Even here, in this... nightmare."
He was quiet for a moment before responding. "You matter, Y/n. Don't forget that."
OR
Y/n wakes up in the deadly Squid Game, surrounded by strangers and fighting to survive. What she doesn't know is that the mysterious Frontman is watching her every move through the cameras- and she's caught his attention.
