The Boy Who Stole My Heart

-I'm fine.", I said, looking down at my lap and fiddling with my fingers.

"No you're not.", he said, furrowing his eyebrows.

I look up at him, tears pricking the back of my eyes.

"Like you care. Nobody really does. They say that they do, that they understand, but they don't.", I retorted, tears lacing the brim of my eyes.

"I know you're not going to believe me, but I do.", he said placing his hand on top of mine. I looked up at him, allowing a tear to flow from my left eye. He quickly wiped it away.

"Prove it.", I said stubbornly, turning away.

"Give me time, and I will.", he said with a sad grin as he watched me cry, "I promise."
