Ravi feels powerless to help Liv as she twists in an endless tornado of death and destruction. That's life as best friend to the recently undead.
Actually, as far as the Medical Examiner's Office goes, he's her boss.
Informally, Ravi is the guy who discovered that Liv's a zombie and that when she eats a murder victim's brains, she has a psychic link to their last moments. That's how she helps solve their murders, and kind of redeems her self-worth so she can (sort of) sleep at night.
Confidentially, he's in love with her. Beyond the frustrating cliché of being stuck in the unrequited friend zone, Ravi has to deal with the annoying obstacles of a cross-species crush.
