"Hell Hath no fury like a woman scorned"

In the calm, perfect, white picket fence parts of Ansonia, Connecticut there lay a sinister secret deep within the walls and hidden behind faked newspaper articles and polished Stepford wives look alikes.

Someone is causing a stir, murdering the city's most influential men, their calling card being a single stemmed rose left Over the body along with a handwritten note which reads;

Once a cheater, always a cheater- B.K

Safe to say, unfaithful men are girding themselves, hiding their mistresses as best as possible in fear of being next.

Silly fools, don't they know I'm everywhere? That late at night when they tell their lovely wives that they're working late, that something came up in the office, that I know different? That they can't hide from me?

Beauty KillS after all, and in a city so full of beautiful women, just exactly who is responsible for these crimes?

I'll never tell...

Once a cheater, always a cheater;

B.K ;)

"Fuck!" I whisper in surprise, pulling my hand back to my mouth and sucking my ring finger. The metallic taste of blood seeps into my mouth and I slowly examine the pad of my red finger. There's a shallow hole where I broke the skin, some blood still lingering there. What the hell? Cautiously this time, I find where I started to pull back on a hanger to see what pricked me. A broken hanger piece? A sharp metal point from the rack? No. Not even close. It's the shirt Danny bought, in the same olive-green color. And wrapped into its hanger is a beautiful, fresh rose, with a piece of paper taped to the top of the prickly stem. Confused, I take the rose from the hanger and pull the note close to my eyes. It's in the same scribbled handwriting like the one I found in her locker. I read it, look at the rose, then read it again and again and again: You two were so close. What happened? All because she killed a man? And to think... It could've been you. Ryan Steel should have a good life. He has a good family, a beautiful girlfriend, great friends, and popularity. But none of that matters, because his best friend Danielle Green might have killed someone. Danny disappeared in September, along with a successful young businessman known as James Wentz. After two months of finding nothing, they show up- but Danny has a gun and Wentz is dead. Unable to resist, Ryan is sucked up into the dark secrets surrounding Danny. Did she kill Wentz? No one seems to know, except for whoever is lurking in the shadows and taunting Ryan. He quickly realizes that there is more to the story than he knows and ends up tied into the mess of the unknown, all while juggling a jealous girlfriend, drugs, gangs... How do you defend someone when they never deny being a criminal?

ONC Ambassador's Pick & Shortlister! Rumors. Infidelity. Lies. Secrets. MURDER. And all before lunch time. Who knew being a socialite in 1951 could be so thrilling? ~~~ On a lovely June afternoon, as the oh-so-chic members of the Gilded Grove Ladies' Book Club gather for their scheduled luncheon, they are shocked to receive the news that their vice president, Camilla Otis, is unable to attend. Gossip ensues. What catastrophe could possibly have befallen her to warrant a last minute cancellation? The answer comes by way of two clever, dashing police officers. It seems Camilla Otis has had quite a busy morning, and that the truth behind her absence is far more scandalous than the Book Club ladies could ever have imagined. As the police dig deeper into the events surrounding Mrs. Otis' shocking crime, buried secrets about the other Book Club members begin to surface. None of the women in question are the fine, upstanding ladies of society that the public believes them to be. Each has tarnish on her so-called "sterling reputation." And no one has more to hide than club president Marcella Montgomery. Written for ONC 2024, this is a tongue-in-cheek "whodunit" (in reverse) that will leave you wondering just what a scorned woman *wouldn't* do for sweet, sweet revenge. ⚠️ Warning: many very nonchalant references to murder and death. Very ignorant (era-realistic), inaccurate comments about nationalities/cultures outside the US.

"I tracked down your wife." Theodore Carter bolted from his chair, his heart pounding with excitement and pain. He hasn't seen Savannah Wilson Carter in nine years. "Can you tell me where she is?" he asked, his heart racing with anticipation. "She's chasing a criminal, and I'm following her. Damn! She's a reckless driver!" Smith muttered. He was the famous hunter he hired to help him find his wife. Then Smith cursed loudly, and then Theo heard the tire screeching and loud metal banging, followed by the beeping sound of a disconnected line. Theo cursed several times and combed his hair in frustration. He's been in hell for the past nine years searching for his runaway wife, who left only with divorce papers. Not only that, but she emptied his vault. All of his valuable historical antiques and gems were gone. He was the legendary Alpha, but he is unable to locate his once frail mate. Smith called again. "She is injured and was sent to the hospital right now. I'll message you the name and address." Theo dashed to the elevator, still clutching the phone. The man on the other line cleared his throat, as if he needed to say something important and sensitive. "I forgot to mention that he's with Ethan Lewis. She's been under his protection since she left you, and she's currently chasing the criminal with Lewis. I witnessed how she killed the criminal they chased."
