Sadie and Julie live in a word where questions are forbidden, labor is forced, and living is optional. They are imprisoned in the Government Compound, a place the Officials claim is "safe" and "protected." But in reality, it's a prison. But when a mutiny against the Government begins, all residents in the compound are given two choices: stay and live a miserable life, or escape and have the chance to start new. But when complications arise and the girls have to band up with strangers, they realize they not only have to fight for each other and against the Government, but also for something much bigger than themselves... a free life.
