Ok so in the real plot naruto is always critisised by almost everyone in the village except for the Sandaime Hokage. Just because he has the kyuubi no kitsune sealed in him does not mean he is that demon fox.

No one even realises he is the fourth hokages only son. I mean are they totally blind cant they see the resemblance in the father and son. The same spikey blonde yellow hair colour, blue eyes and the same goofy grin. O'Come on there is a huge freaking statue of his head.

Well anyways what would happen if this didnt happen and naruto was taken away from the village by Jiraya after the Kyuubi's so called 'death'.
Would thing be different? Heck yeah cause Naruto will be saved from the village and seen and known as the fourth hokages prodigy.
