The Rotherham and Topps Series - The Secretive Suitor

Margaret Rotherham is a fine and dignified lady, thank you very much. Despite her penchant for pilfering, interfering and generally being a nuisance, she would quite like her reputation to be kept somewhat respectable. Yet somehow, with the aid of a rather secretive suitor, this hope is becoming rather more of a fantasy.

Roger Topps has always been described as eccentric. His fortune is extensive and so is his manor, and whilst he has an unnerving obsession with pocket-watches, a rather untidy haircut and a general lack of decorum he is widely considered one of the finest bachelors in all of London.

At one of the Rotherham family's reknowned balls, the two meet. Whilst Mrs Rotherham believes the pairing is destined for marriage, the two young adults could not see this as further from the truth.
