There's a lot Mya would like to forget. Like how her father has knocked up his 22-year-old girlfriend. Like Mya's fear that the whole town will find out about her mom's nervous breakdown. Like the darkly handsome bad boy, Dade, taunting her school. Feeling like her life is about to become a complete mess, Mya fights back the only way she knows how, using her famous attention to detail to make sure she's the perfect daughter, the perfect student, and the perfect girlfriend to ultra-popular football player Zack.

But then Mya is in a car crash, and the next day there's one thing she can't remember at all --the entire night before. Did she go parking with Zack? And if so, why does it seem like Zack is avoiding her? Why is Dade--of all people--suddenly acting as if something significant happened between the two of them? Mya dimly remembers Dade pulling her from the wreck, but he keeps referring to what happened that night, and it terrifies Mya to admit how much is a blank to her. Control, meticulously Mya is quickly losing her grip on all important details of her life. Her life suddenly feels strangely empty of Zack, and strangely full of Dade.

"Ava, you have to be quiet! They'll hear you-" Tears started to spill from my eyes, blending in with the rain that dripped down my face. I shouldn't have come here. The last time I followed someone I made accidentally noise and got them killed. I had to get away from Jaxon. I turned on my heel, ready to run to, but Jaxon grabbed my wrist. "Let go" I choked, "I have to leave. You're in danger-" The next thing I knew, his lips crashed onto mine. His arms wrapped around my body, pulling tightly to his chest. "Stop it" I sobbed, unable to control my trembling. "Why are you doing this? Let me go-" "I had to get you quiet" he murmured. "Please Ava. You have to try to calm down. I understand you're scared right now, but you have to trust me. We're going to get home safely. Stay with me a few more minutes, and then we'll get the f*ck out of here. I promise." -- A little about Ava: She has made the long move from Detroit, Michigan to California to escape her gruesome past. Rudy is patient, a selfless older brother, a genuine gentleman, and carries a quiet heartache that belies his ruthless reputation. He sees past Quinn's sarcasm and challenge, and his unexpected vulnerability cracks her icy exterior. The problem? As Rudy begins to truly fall for Quinn-making grand, heart-stopping gestures and proving that he cancommit-Quinn's genuine feelings are rising to meet his. Her initial disgust has melted into a terrifying, undeniable love. She now knows the truth: She started the bet to break him, but she's the one who will be destroyed by it. Just as Quinn is ready to confess the entire, humiliating truth and beg for his forgiveness, the dark secret is ripped from her control. It's exposed to the whole university, landing on Rudy with the force of a full-contact tackle. Now, Rudy isn't just heartbroken; he's publicly humiliated and believes every sweet word and stolen kiss was a calculated lie. Quinn is left fighting not just for his love, but for a belief that the man she truly became during the bet deserves a second chance with the man she truly loves. Can a love born from a lie survive a truth this cruel?

55 parts Complete Mature

There's this silence between us that stretches longer than it should, and it wraps around my chest like a weighted blanket. My throat tightens. I stare at him like I'm trying to memorise the face of someone who shouldn't exist. A dream made real. My lips part before I can stop myself. "Were you sent by my dad to take care of me?" The question hangs in the air, trembling like the last leaf in autumn. Aiden's gaze softens. His lips tug into the gentlest smile I've ever seen. It's the kind of smile that could mend broken wings. "No" he whispers. "I volunteered." The words hit harder than I expect. Like a punch wrapped in silk. I gasp, air leaves me in a rush I can't reclaim. But before I can fully process what he's just said, he takes a step closer. His fingers ghost over my cheek, brushing away a tear I didn't realise had fallen. And then-he kisses me painfully slow. His hand cups the back of my neck, anchoring me to a moment I never want to end. And just when I think it's over, he pulls away just enough to look at me. His thumb traces the damp trail of tears down my cheek. He doesn't say anything. He just leans in again, and kisses them away. One by one. My tears. My pain. My silence. All kissed away by a boy who didn't come to save me because someone sent him. He came because he chose to.
