How at one particular moment, things changed when she heard odd noises coming from out of her wardrobe. "Ever have one of those days where your whole world flips upside down?" I ask him, trying to explain without sounding crazy. "Yeah why?" this time he does shrug. "Well I'm having one of those days" I push off from the ground so that I'm now swinging. "That sucks, but you know what happens when the world turns upside down," he pauses for me to acknowledge his question "you get used to it being upside down, and after a while you don't notice anymore. "Ten years ago today was the worst day of my life. On the 17th of November 2007, I lost my best friend in a hit-and-run car accident. My therapist seems to think that documenting everything I think and feel in this diary will finally help me get over her death-and who knows? Maybe he's right. Or maybe he's very wrong; in which case I suppose this diary could serve as some kind of "note"." This is really just me playing around with the diary format and exploring what would happen to the friends of someone who died young - how they would react and try to pick up their lives etc. When writing this, I picked a start date for the diary that seemed far away but it's soon crept up on me, so I had the idea of posting it on the actual dates stated in the book.
