I'd dreamed of weddings before, in my youth; and in every scenario, I had always thought it to be the happiest day in my life: surrounded by my closest friends and family and laughing in my gorgeous white dress with flowers in my hair. A Long Hard Fought Journey (Completed)
I WROTE THIS IN MIDDLE SCHOOL. ITS CRINGEY READ AT YOUR OWN RISK Poor Izzie Stevens thought it was bad enough that her dad was an alcoholic but he agreed to give up alcohol long enough to teach her how to drive.She is 13 years old but when her dad leaves her alone to test drive the thing that happens next may have Izzie fighting for her life. But then when she is saved she finds her one true love Joseph. Joseph and Izzie are only hardly even distant relatives.When they met a few years ago they didn't know they were related. Will they be able to save Izzie during her long hard fought journey?Will they ever get to live a peaceful life together? Will Izzie die before she gets true love or will she live to get the true love of her life that she wants? Both Joseph and Izzie are musicians in school but no where else. Will they still get music or will it be all over? Will they get sports they do together or is that gone to? Will they find love?Will Izzie live or will she die?Will they fall apart or stay strong?Will Izzie's dad give up alcohol for good?What will leave Izzie struggling to survive?Will she stay and fight for her life or will she give up and end it all?Will they be able to save Izzie?Will she be able to survive?Will she ever get a happily ever after?Will she get her happy dream life? "Dance with me." While I knew it wasn't a demand, it wasn't a question either. I hesitated and he noticed. "Come on Grace, give this gentleman the honor of a dance." "I don't see a gentleman anywhere." He chuckled, stepping closer and tucking his thumbs into his tight jean pockets. He looked like every woman's dream--dark jeans that hugged him sinfully, golden-tanned skin contrasted by his white-fitted shirt, a black, wide-brimmed cowboy hat, and a smile that could send any woman on her knees. Not to mention a voice that coated your skin like silk sheets. I hated how much I noticed. Feeling empty for reasons she's not yet sure of, she's adamant on chasing anything that makes her feel free. Meet Colt--living the country life, private, stubborn, outspoken. Feeling empty for reasons he's well aware of, he hides in his daily routine. Grace can't seem to figure out why she holds nothing back when it comes to Colt. He's absolutely infuriating. Colt can't seem to understand the affect Grace has on him, and why he cares what she does. She's entirely maddening. When the two get lost in the wilderness, it's up to Colt to get them back. Can they put their differences aside long enough to survive? Is it Colt who will save Grace, or is it she who will be his saving grace? Have you ever met someone who alters the course of your life? For good or for bad, they've come in, given and taken, and then- BOOM! Your life was never the same. There's always a change, an altering of reality. When you meet those people, the reality that you've known your whole life is suddenly gone and a new one has taken its place. When those moments happen, there's no going back. You can try to return to the way things were but nothing, and I mean nothing, can take you back to exactly how it was. That's what happened to us. I think that's why we're still trying so desperately to get back to some sort of normalcy. Four years later and we're still on the ground, crawling, in search of the happiness that was lost that June. Summers will never be the same. Midnight walks through my neighborhood will never be the same. Field parties with bonfires and loud music will never be the same. I still don't know why you left and what lead you to the decision you made. What I do know is that we're here. We're alive and we're pushing forward to the future. A future that you're not a part of. The friends in this story are trying to make names for themselves, figure out who they are, who they can trust, how to love, and how to separate themselves from a restrictive community.
