I gripped the tiny key around my neck in my palm I sighed going from room to room I decided to start with the attic, I pulled the latched down slowly and it let out a low creek I slowly walked up the stairs cautiously I looked around at all the junk crowding the very large attic grandma had always been a person who hated throwing things away. I smirked as I remember the arguments her and mom use to have over what she need and didn't need. I started putting the fall items on the floor into their crates they must have fallen out I stood up and started to take a crate to other side of the room when my foot connected with a hard object "shit!" I cried out dropping the crate I sat on the floor and rubbed my toe through my shoes I grabbed the sheet off of the thing my foot came in contact with and came face to face with a large chest with a small lock on the front. I raised my eyebrows. and looked around for a second until I remember the key around my neck.

I rubbed my eyes and stretched my arms. I extended them too high for they have hit the glittery dream catcher hanging on the headboard of my bed. The said item dropped on my face. "Argh, get off me." I removed the dream catcher from my face and sat up on my bed. I turned my gaze to the clock on the side table; it was 7:15. "Ugh," I moaned. "it's too early." I closed my eyes and tried to sleep again. A few minutes passed until somebody knocked on the door. "Marie," said the person who knocked on the door. "Let's go already!" Shoot, I forgot. No wonder I woke up so early. I quickly rose to my feet and rushed to the bathroom. "Marie! Are you even awake?" I didn't respond just yet because I was in the shower. A few moments later, the same person knocked on my door. "I've got the keys, Marie," she said. I could hear her shaking the keys outside my door. "You can't stay asleep forever!" Hurriedly, I placed on my blue blouse and pants. I grabbed the brush from the bathroom and started to comb my dark brown hair. Rushing to the door, I opened it to see my friend Ranie Accendo. I eyed her gray blazer over her white shirt, pants, and boots. "What took you so long?" she asked. "Nevermind that." I shook my hand dismissively. "Where are we going? If it's not important, I'm going back to bed." "To the forest." "The forest? Why?" "I'll show you something." ••••••••••••••• •All of the characters in this book belong to me and @RanieAccendo• •The cover photo was drawn by me.•
