I gripped the tiny key around my neck in my palm
I sighed
going from room to room
I decided to start with the attic,
I pulled the latched down slowly and it let out a low creek
I slowly walked up the stairs cautiously
I looked around at all the junk crowding the very large attic
grandma had always been a person who hated throwing things away.
I smirked as I remember the arguments her and mom use to have over what she need and didn't need.
I started putting the fall items on the floor into their crates they must have fallen out
I stood up and started to take a crate to other side of the room when my foot connected with a hard object
"shit!" I cried out dropping the crate
I sat on the floor and rubbed my toe through my shoes
I grabbed the sheet off of the thing my foot came in contact with and came face to face with a large chest with a small lock on the front. I raised my eyebrows. and looked around for a second until I remember the key around my neck.
