The Vampire's Beloved

Matilda sped to the front door and prayed to herself that it was unlocked. She placed her hand on the doorknob and when she turned it, she was happy to see that her silent prayers had been answered. She opened the door as fast as she could and she stepped onto the veranda before she attempted to go down the stairs to the gravel path that led to that gate.
But before she was able to take at least two steps, something sped it front of her. Before Matilda knew it, she was pinned to the wall of the house. Matilda was able to feel those two strong hands gripping her shoulders and she was not going to be able to get anywhere fast.
"What the hell?" Matilda spat.
"Language, my love. I don't want to hear words like that come from your innocent little mouth," replied the captor.
"Stop calling me names like that and let me go."
"Why would I want to do that?"
"Because you are holding me here against my will. You know there is a law against that."
"There is no law about taking what is your's."
"Taking what is your's? I don't belong to you."
"Actually, sweetheart, you do."
This guy was a complete and utter nut, Matilda told herself. No one could own another person and Matilda's parents didn't even own her. As far as Matilda was concerned, she now belonged to no one because she was eighteen. She was now and adult so she could do what she wanted with her life. So, in a nutshell, if anyone was going to own her, it was going to be Matilda herself.

Learning that vampires were real wasn't something that Matilda Sullivan thought she would learn. Learning that she was the beloved of some sexy, hot and rich vampire wasn't something she was expecting either and Matilda didn't know what to do right now. But a human entering the vampire world was risky and dangerous and Matilda was going to learn a lot about her new life.
She was also going to make a few changes and the vampire life was going to become part of her forever.
