Cato and Clove (EXTREMELY SLOW UPDATES)

Clove volunteers for The Hunger Games because she thinks they might repair her. Clove has been abused by her father, neglected by her mother, ignored by her friends because she has none, and can't remember the last time she smiled. She knows the games will repair her or break her even more. Maybe she'll smile when she wins.

Cato is the role model for any child in District 2. He can be fierce and merciless but when he is not training he is kind and sweet. Most people can't imagine him killing another person. He couldn't bring himself to do that. Normally he wouldn't but when he saw Clove volunteer he had to. He denied it for a long time but he was falling for Clove. He was going to be the one to protect her in the games.

District 2 is not really what they appear to be. They are not fearless, they are told to hide their fear. Just like anyone else, it hurts them to kill another kid in the games but they just have to tell themselves over and over again that they had to do it to win the games, that this is the only way.
