Since her mother mysteriously disappeared ten years ago, Prime the dragon has been on her own. That is, until she's caught as a trespasser on Skarborrow territory. After being taken to the capital, she discovers alternate motives for her capture. Prime is soon appointed champion, and heads for the Champion Games, a set of friendly, hardcore competition among all the twenty-four champions of the tribes, an event held every decade. But champions start getting murdered, from dangerous to least dangerous, by an ancient enemy, and Prime is next on the list.
