Darren "Dazzhands" Saltmarsh is a pirate radio DJ who likes 80s rock and getting free stuff out of companies. The job's unrewarding, but it's preferable to being caught up in a war between fairies.
Not that there's much of a choice on offer. Emerging in the ersatz un-geometric Faerie, Darren is bludgeoned repeatedly over the head with freedom fighters, animals in skirts, mischievous trees, religiously important pottery, the Golden Army, actual concussion, and an adult child in a dress who happens to be in charge.
All easy enough for a Consummate Radio Professional to deal with. The real problem is the other human who's ended up in Faerie, an old acquaintance of Darren's. He's mostly human, partly something else, and entirely dreadful.
