harry has autism. he is sixteen years of age and has the mental capacity of a seven year old. louis has a big heart. he is also sixteen years old. he helps out this kid he sits next to in english class when he realizes his struggles. - "mama says i am different." harry mumbles sadly. "you aren't different, love." louis murmurs softly. "you're special." - [ trigger warning : mentions of sexual assault, suicidal thinking, self-harm, alcohol abuse, foul language and sexual situations. ] [ side note : this story is based off of my own knowledge of autism. one of my relatives has this disorder and i asked if i could use him as inspiration for a story. i got permission and am strictly using what he has gone through in his life as a special little kid. a few things will be changed, obviously. but, this is my view of autism. ] writer : anxietybabies - 2016.

Harry is a sophomore in highschool and is bored of the same old shit. One day a new kid moves into their school, bring his troubling history along with him. When the boy shares the scars from his past with Harry, both of their worlds change forever. _________ "Let's go underwater." "Why?" "Trust me." I go under for a few moments, and when we both pop back up, Louis says to me, "What'd you hear? "Nothing?" "See anything?" "Nope did you?" "Not a thing. Hear, smell?" "No." "Harry, that is something I like to call, peace. Complete and utter peacefulness." "Yeah but it only lasted for about 15 seconds." "Sometimes that's all you need to keep you going. A quick escape from reality. A small feeling of nothingness to make you feel something."
