Dreams are only ever just nightmares for twelve year old Michael Miller. He has long succumbed to the fact that life will never be anything but cruel towards him, pain and misery his only real friends. Nothing will ever change for him, especially not after the accident that took his mother.
But what happens when a strange, intense girl turns his nighmares into hopes, his misery into joy, his lonliness into friendship, and pain into happiness? Will he be able to believe that maybe, just maybe, he could turn his life around if ever let himself dream?

"Sam!!!! Sam!! Don't do it!!" I heard a deep voice saying as I was standing at the edge of the highest building in town. I was crying. "Sam! You don't have to do this!" The voice said "You don't have to go this far! How about us?! Your friends? Your family?" I was going to pass out from crying. And if I pass out, of course I'm going to fall!
