Dreams are only ever just nightmares for twelve year old Michael Miller. He has long succumbed to the fact that life will never be anything but cruel towards him, pain and misery his only real friends. Nothing will ever change for him, especially not after the accident that took his mother.
But what happens when a strange, intense girl turns his nighmares into hopes, his misery into joy, his lonliness into friendship, and pain into happiness? Will he be able to believe that maybe, just maybe, he could turn his life around if ever let himself dream?

Easton King has had a hard life. His parents abandoned him as a toddler and he's been from home to home for as long as he can remember. "Sam!!!! Sam!! Don't do it!!" I heard a deep voice saying as I was standing at the edge of the highest building in town. I was crying. "Sam! You don't have to do this!"
