The Understood and Understated

In the city of Vaspernen, there is one thing that will make or break you: your family's history. You are either an Understood (a successful, opportune, rich, and everything you could dream of person), or an Understated (living in rough places, less opportunity, poor person).

Lucy is an Understood. Her father is a rich businessman who built his success. Lucy has a path to good education, a good job, and a rich life. When she meets an Understated girl and discovers her fathers secret, her life could change drastically.

Kacy is an Understated. She lives with her mother and sister in a small suburb and teaches young Understated children to earn money to take care of herself. When Kacy meets an Understood runaway, she starts to question her city and country's history. And maybe, just maybe, she might start to fall for the boy she barely knows.
