When Dean's father gets a job in Kirstown, Alabama, he is devastated. Back in Los Angeles lie his friends, most recognizably his best friend, Grant. Upon arriving in his new home he immediately meets Ben, a goofy, short and chubby kid who reminds Dean of Grant. Dean wants to fit in in this new town, but more than anything, he wants his friends back.

Lindsey may seem normal to you and me, but she spent her years living a lie. Her parents adopted Lindsey as an infant only to raise her as their own. Then after a miracle, Lindsey's parents have a child. Unfortunately for Lindsey, her sister, Marigold is getting all the attention. Now, Lindsey is a junior at Kirkstown High and Marigold a freshman. After years of being pushed to the side by her adoptive family, Lindsey wants to be wanted. Desperately.

The Way She Walked is a novel of romance, struggle and the trials of Dean and Lindsey's lives as their stories intertwine and a love unfolds.
